Fox (Stone Cold Fox Trilogy Book 3) Page 18

“I can’t believe it,” she whispered into my ear.

“God, baby, I’m so fucking proud of you.”

“I love you,” she said and pressed a soft kiss to my lips.

“I love you too, baby,” I responded against her lips. We stayed locked tight in an embrace for a long moment. Eventually, I leaned back and met her eyes.

“So, now where do we go?” I asked. “After parties?”

She shook her head. “I want to go home, Levi. I want to go home and see the girls and hug my parents and just be with the people who mean the most to me.”

  God, I loved her.

And I felt the exact same way.

“But we are definitely picking up some Taco Bell on the way home because I’m starved,” she added, and I burst into laughter.

“What?” she questioned and slapped a playful hand against my chest. “I’ve barely had anything all day so I could fit into this dress. And now, I’m ready put on some sweats and gorge myself on fucking tacos.”

  Happy wife, happy life.

I smiled. “Let’s go get you some fucking tacos, then.”

She giggled, and my heart expanded inside my chest.

To the world, she was Ivy Stone, famous celebrity and, now, Oscar-winning actress, but to me, she was my beautiful, feisty, funny wife who was the best damn mother to our little girls. Ivy Fox.

Our life wasn’t perfect, but we were blessed. We’d been through hell, and we’d come out the other side more than just intact.

We came out alive and thriving and together.

Thank you to Basil and Banana for always being there to keep us in order!

THANK YOU to our amazing readers. Without you guys, none of this would be possible.

THANK YOU to all of the awesome and supportive bloggers. You never hesitate to share our teasers and information, even when it sounds like it’s written by someone in the midst of a mental breakdown. Thank you so much!

THANK YOU to our editor, Lisa. You are, like, the real deal. You drink wine in our honor (*cough* because of us *cough cough*) and you dominate our deadlines. Thanks for not making fun of us even though we can never ever remember if it should be further or farther.

THANK YOU to our agent, Amy. You never even flinch when we tell you we need something read in a day and a half.

And last, but certainly not least, THANK YOU to our family. We love you guys. Thanks for putting up with us and our moments of creative crazy. Not to mention what feels like a constant state of us looking like hot messes and always on a deadline. Maybe we should stop writing so many books?

Monroe: Yeah, good try. We already have 3 more docs started. You know, Trick Play, and those other things.

Max: Why don’t you ever sleep?

Monroe: I sleep! Remember, we’re taking a whole week off after this.

Max: [rolls eyes] Except for writing. I’m pretty sure we’re still going to be writing.

Monroe: Yeah, but come on! It’s—

  Max: [covers Monroe’s mouth]

  Monroe: Schillionaire Schmook Schlub?

Max: [closes eyes in despair] I thought we weren’t saying anything.

Monroe: [rolls eyes] Relax. We didn’t. Not really, anyway. Just enough to make people curious. [looks to readers] Right?

Max: Well, I guess we’ll see soon enough. Think this is going to start spreading all over social media?

Monroe: [laughs] Who do you think we are? Beyoncé?

Max: True. I guess we’re safe, then.

Monroe: [winks at readers] Of course. Safest we’ve ever been.

  Thank you for reading!

We love you tons and tons and tons!

  XOXO,

  Max Monroe
